Dear VAGARA Members,
I hope you are all enjoying the start of summer and taking time to recharge as we move into the second half of the year. As always, VAGARA continues to thrive, thanks to the dedication of our members and supporters.
First, I am pleased to provide an update on our upcoming annual conference in Virginia Beach, October 22-24th. Plans are well underway, and we are excited to bring you a program filled with engaging speakers, insightful discussions, and invaluable networking opportunities. Whether you are a long-time member or new to VAGARA, the conference will offer something for everyone. Registration opens on July 7th.
Exhibitor registration for the conference is currently open and we already have several vendors ready to interact with VAGARA members! This is a fantastic opportunity for vendors and service providers to connect with professionals in our field, showcase their latest offerings, and engage with the VAGARA community. If you have a working relationship with a vendor, please encourage them to register and attend.
The application window for the Connis O. Brown Scholarship will open on July 15th. If you or someone you know is interested in applying, I encourage you to review the recently updated eligibility criteria and submit an application before the deadline.
I am also happy to announce that the nomination period for the Outstanding Member and Vendor of the Year awards is already open. These awards recognize individuals and organizations that have demonstrated excellence and dedication to VAGARA and the field of archives and records management. Please take a moment to consider those who have made significant contributions and submit nominations—we want to celebrate the incredible work being done within our community!
Finally, I'm happy to report that the Nominating Committee has submitted its board-approved slate of nominees for the 2026-2027 term. Skip ahead in the newsletter to read more about the nominees! The membership will vote to approve the slate at the annual business meeting held during the conference.
Thank you for your continued commitment to VAGARA. Your efforts make a difference, so please stay connected, stay engaged, and reach out with any questions!
Warm regards,
Jessie Graham
President, VAGARA
