2021 Virtual Conference
This half-day event features three dynamic sessions on records and information management topics that matter to you.
This event is free for VAGARA members.
The Future of Records Management – Permanent changes from the Pandemic
In this session, Dan Elam, takes a look at the future of records management from a technology and legal perspective as the industry changes at the fastest pace in history. The pandemic has also brought permanent changes to how users work and interact, but it also means significant changes to how records management operates in comparison to traditions.
LVA Update
For your edification and enlightenment, Records Management Analysts of the Library of Virginia will proudly present a double billing of What Happened When Destruction Reporting Went RM-3 Digital, followed by Everybody Loves a File Plan. With content sponsored by questions from records officers and managers across the Commonwealth, the former will provide lessons learned since implementation and the latter the benefits from developing one.
Going Remote: Moving RIM Training to a Virtual World
The move to remote work at University of Virginia during the COVID-19 pandemic called for a new approach to RIM training. Anita Vannucci and Jessie Graham will talk about how the RIM team identified cheap and easy ways to take training virtual via live Zoom sessions and on-demand pre-recorded courses. In this session, the RIM team will discuss ways we modified content and made virtual training more accessible. We will look at the tools we used and the lessons learned along the way.
